Cleaning my Hemi engine and was wondering if any one knows why the holes.

1954 331 HEMI heads have bolt holes at each ends of both heads , what are these bolt holes for?? Looks like 1/4 20 threaded bolt holes.

    Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. Made me wonder if I could cut a water hole in the front, drill and tap bolt holes around it and make a crossover for the 54 heads.

Generally fittings can be attached, or screwed on/in, with hoses running to a remote thermostat

I can only guess what they are for. I would go to Hothemiheads.com , and contact Bob or one of his people they are very good, and very friendly.
