The guy next door to me at work has a F6 Ford with the 337 Flathead Lincoln in it. It runs like a sewing machine in is clean. He's going to unload the whole chassis and was wondering what it's worth just the motor. I told him a nice running Ford flathead of the same era might bring a thousand bucks. What's a you guys?

A strong running Ford version would bring more than $1000 I think if it had good compression and could be used without a rebuild, they're very hard to find.

But the big truck/Lincoln ones are pretty unloved. If he's lucky he might find someone willing to pay $500 for it including the flywheel and bellhousing, maybe for a big speedster or another big truck, or maybe for an early 50's Lincoln.

I don't know anyone running one in a rod though. They're neat, but they weigh a ton and are big dimensionally.

I know they are not popular and are huge. I know guy named Hudson Joe that's in the Shifters Car Club runs one in his 29 Roadster oh, perhaps I'll see if I can get ahold of him and see if he's interested or has a ballpark value.

    A V671 blower would look nice on a 337;)

There was a dual engine 32 Ford truck with IIRC 337 flatheads at Pismo Beach Trog. I used to have a photo but couldn't find it. Really nice truck. I believe it had history to it.

I'd guesstimate the value of the engine at around a grand, too. '51 through early '52 Muntz Jets had 337 Lincoln engines. There could be a few folks looking for a running one on the Muntz Registry. Maybe contact this guy to see if he can help you.
