You may have already comment about the transmission. You running a C4 right? What adapter did you use?

  6. Not much has happened since the first of the year but we're rolling again. Took the A back to Boling Bros. now that Derrek has a little room. Floor, steering column and a few other final things before it's ready to paint. Hope to have it a driver by summer. :D

Very nice! Can't wait to hear that Y block making those cheater slicks scream!

  11. I'm real glad to see you are using a Model A grille shell. I get real tired of seeing Model A's with '32 grilles. I have a '31 Tudor I built about thirty years ago and I've had the model A shell on it since day one. keep up the good work!

    Intressting thread, looking good....

  13. Thanks for all the encouragement guys! I'm very happy with the way the car is turning out. It's taking a bit longer than I had hoped but they always seem to do that. Nothing good is easy. ;)

There will be video when it's fired, trust me! You may notice that it has a single four on top of the Y right now, that is only temporary. I stocked up on a bunch of 97s and Derrek is going to "fab" up a custom 4 x 2 intake for the motor. I'll have him get some pix as that comes along.

If you think there are a few more carbs than what I need it's because I have another engine that needed a couple.

I don't want to overlap projects but after the A is done there is another car lined up to add to my sickness. A man just can't get enough "T" and "A". :D

keep up the good work Tim. Is the manifold going to be a 4x2 log manifold? very interested in seeing that.

Don't worry Tim. It's really not a sickness. I don't think I have had it more than 60 years or so. It's more like an addiction and it's easy to quit. :D

  16. No, I don't much care for logs. Not the most efficient. I have in mind an open plenum cross ram design. I will mock it up in cardboard and Derrek will make it out of steel. I'd make it myself but he's a much better welder than I. A man has got to know his limitations. ;)

  17. You 'gonna put the flathead in the Herald or the MG ? :p

  22. Indeed they will! lol :D

  23. No pix today but the steering column is in and the floor is started. Also ordered complete interior kit from LeBaron Bonney today. Coming together. :D

  24. Whatcha doing for steering?

  25. Vega cross steer. Maybe non-traditional but more stable at high speed. I do expect to have this thing going "high speed" too. ;)

I think I may have read that wrong the first time, so 2 four barrels on a cross ram? I thought you meant 4 two barrels, which is why I thought a log maifold. But a crossram on a yblock should be fairly simple to do.

  27. I am talking about four twos on a cross ram. I'd show you my cardboard mock up if you promise not to laugh.

i promise I wont, im always interested in what youre cooking up

  29. OK! Here's the idea. I want to run 4x2s but I don't like "Logs", the 4x2 intakes I've seen for other engines aren't the best either. (carbs dirrectly over the intake ports) So I was thinking "Box style cross ram". I was looking at pix on the web and this Mopar one kinda looks like what I was thinking. Kinda!

So this is what I came up with in poster board.

No doubt the first try will look a bit different and all ports will be divided but I think you can get the idea. Then think of four of those new Strombergs on top. :D
