I want to add a duel mc to my stock 34 pedals. It has juice brakes already but was never finished. I don’t want to cut up the frame. How can I do this without spending $600 on a conversion kit? Any pictures and info would be great.

  2. Does Dennis Lacy (search archives) have anything?

How about a pic of your 34 with current master in it.

I don’t have a master cylinder or pedals. I only have brake lines. I want to use stock pedals and a dual master cylinder.

IMG_0850.jpeg A few years ago, I scored a “garage find” ‘33 3 window coupe. The car has always been well cared for and loved, even when parked for several years. I’m the fourth owner of the car. Either the original owner or the second owner is responsible for the conversion of my car to hydraulic brakes.

Their master cylinder actuator & mount is simple and works well. The original pedals & the mechanical brakes “equalizer” assembly work as originally designed. The master cylinder is mounted on the passenger side of the X member, facing backwards. The mechanical brake equalizer assembly is used to push the master cylinder rod . It works well and nothing was hacked. If this solution interests you, I can snap a few photos. It’s incredibly simple.

Yes, that would be great. I would like to see how your setup works.

A simple piece of flat steel strap, bolted to the rear X member legs serves as a mounting bracket for the stock mechanical brakes equalizer shaft. Another simple bracket is bolted to the passenger side X member leg to serve as the mounting bracket for the master cylinder.
