34 Cabriolet 59AB or 8BA

If you had a choice between a 59ab or a 8ba witch one would you chose and why. I have read up a little on fitment issues with the 8ba in a 34. My firewall is stock and want to keep it that way. I have a 40 ford rear non split wishbone and planning on a 4 wheel drive T5 and Closed drive adapter.

 

59ab fits better and fan won't interfere with the radiator. Much better looking engine.

 

Any one else. I am leaning toward the 59ab mostly for fitment reasons. Are the 8ba blocks really much of and improvment over the 59ab ?

 

Doin' a 59ab in my 5-window for all the reasons listed above.

 

59 is preferable, 8BA can be converted to 59 type externals very easily so it will fit.
Overall dimensions will be the same once converted. Correct choice between the routes shoud be whichever block is in better shape! if looking, go for 59 or a prewar Merc.
