Hi All, I own a couple of 34 Master Sedans - one converted to a sedan delivery, and the other being a 4 door sedan. Both cars are in storage about 500 miles away so I cant just rock up and measure them. One lacks a grill insert, and I have found one for sale down here for NZ$700 which is a pretty good price (quite hard to find down here at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean) Only issue is seller isnt sure if hes selling a Master or a Junior surround, and neither he, nor I, know if they are different sizes. Is there a size difference, or are they the same? Thanks for your help everyone.
Not to sure about the grille but about 30 years ago before the internet i bought two 1934 Chevrolet sedans on the same saturday from newspaper ads. Both at other ends of the country and no pics. Rented a trailer for the weekend and clocked up the kilometers. Sunday afternoon i had them parked next to each other .WTF, they look so different. One was a Master Deluxe and the other a Standard . Oh well, learnt something new.
Don't spend the money until you know if the grill is correct for your use. The grills may be rare where you are, but what good is it for you if it is not what you need.
The grill shells are different. all though the bodies look similar, every piece of sheet metal work is different.
Have the seller provide the grille dimensions, then post them here with a picture of the grille. I'm sure one of our early Chevy aficionados will be able to ID the grille for you. Lots of differences in the 33/34 Standard, Master, etc.
