    Carrera 600,

I was nice talking to you.
Picture this .......... with your car on jack stands, take the rear spring and shocks off the rear of your beautiful 3 window. Support the rear axle with a floor jack under the center section. Lift the jack. See what hits first ........... if your car has the original rubber snubbers ....... the axle housings will hit the bumpers before the center section will touch the dome in the rear floor.
Trim the snubbers until the center section just barely clears the floor ....... the bumpers will give when contacted by the axle so leave 3/4" clearance. Now you know how low you can go with the stock running gear.
Now to get that low it takes a Posie super glide rear spring with the third and fifth leaves out. Send the main leaf to a spring shop .......... have them turn it upside down, swap it end for end, and have them re arch the spring with a one inch drop compared to stock Posie. Install the main leaf on your rear and then build the spring ...........it took me months to figure this out ......cause I am not very sharp .......... call me if you need more...........
    My car has a trunk.........tp

    Randolf,

I am not sure that anyone would be that interested in my idea of taking a perfect original '34 and turning it into a hot rod ....... but not drilling any holes, always respecting the original condition .......... and keeping all the stuff so that it could be put back to stock if you wanted to.

I realized that in more than 50 years of messing with cars that I had never seen anyone be able to undo what they had done ....... so that is what I am doing .......... I mean I was very lucky to be in the position to acquire the car and this car was so good it had the complete original wiring harness, wooden floors, interior, never been hit, no rust, and always stored out of the sun ..... and so on ..........so I decided that I would respect all that and at the same time ........ have my fun.

This is so that the next guy (after I'm gone) ....... can put it back if he wants to. I think of this car as being fully adjustable ...............tp
