Im looking to purchase a 34 Ford cab.... The question is are the 1/2 ton and 1.ton truck cabs the same?
Yep. This is one that I removed from the 1 ton frame and put on the '32 frame. '34 cab, '32 frame. I drilled the spot welds out of the firewall and moved it back a little since I used a pass car grill and hood.
I've heard even the front fenders and running boards are the same Can anyone confirm this? Sent from my SM-G900T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
From what I understand, the fenders on a 32 are all the same. Car, truck, 1 1/2 ton etc. I've also been told that the 32 fenders will not fit on a 34 frame unless you replace the fender supports with those from a 32. I cannot confirm this though.
I'm wondering if 34 big truck fenders fit the little ones. Sent from my SM-G900T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
32 fenders won't fit a 33/4 frame at all. And vice versa. The fenders look a whole lot similar, but they aren't. Just changing the braces won't do it. I've heard that the spare tire well on the big trucks is a different size than the pickups, but the proper year fenders will interchange otherwise. The 33/4 big trucks (flat beds) had short running boards, didn't they? So they wouldn't reach all the way to a rear fender. Probably the same on a 32.
You can tell 33/34 pickup/large truck fenders as they have a small raised "rib" that goes over where the front cross member raised rivets are. 32's do not have this feature. 32 fenders, headlight bar and hood, and firewall are the same on car, pickup and large truck. cab is the same pickup and large truck. Car and pickup share the same running board, however the pickups are metal and car had a rubber skin. 33-34 pickup and large truck share the same fenders, hood, headlight bar and cab, but the running boards are short on 32-34 large truck. 33-34 pickup had the gas tank in the back, large truck it was under the seat. About the only difference in the cab.
