Those windwings are a period accessory that are functional and attractive and damned unusual so I vote for keeping them and all the rest. For a Model A price plus a bit you get a prime "original" 34 V8 Coupe with a few bells and whistles so enjoy it as is until you drop dead at the wheel.
I went nuts trying to find some side marker lights until I realized somebody doesn't know old cars and the terminology for them. I'm thinking they were talking about cowl lamps...keep them too.
By the way, the radio may just have the speaker disconnected something simple wrong with it. It lights up you say but does it hum, crackle or make any noise at all?
These are damn good radios so worth the trouble to have someone look at it. Find a local old guy who likes restoring old cabinet radios and table radios.

Pasadena - the radio hums, so the vibrator seems to be vorking fine. there is no outside antenna, and it appears the cable for the antenna goes underneath, but haven't located one yet - though I haven't looked hard as the old glasspacks, duals, and specific firing order of the flathead are plenty good music for me so far. Might be frame mounted - might be gone? The side marker lights are hooked to a toggle just under the dash right next to the factory dash light switch that is a left/right/center switch for turn signals - also using an old red jewel type light to let you know they are on/working - so the cowl lamps or, umm 'side markers' stay.
I keep playing with the 'vent windows' on the actual side windows - you know the ones that open up right at the end of the window crank cycle - I had heard of them but never seen them in action. I might just wear 'em out if I don't stop. Tim :)

  4. I think the antena is mounted under the running boards on those.

I would see how many miles I could put on in this year and then start the same game next year. That car is perfect. If you ever get tired of it's look I would sell it and buy a less pristine 34 to cut up.

Not under the running board that I can find. Gotta get it on a lift and check it out. I'll do it this weekend. For now - DRIVE! :)

While underneath the car changing the oil, and checking fluids - I traced the antenna wire. It goes back to the spare, and uses either the mount or the spare wheel for the antenna? I don't get it, but maybe someone out there does. The fellow that owned it last was a builder/collector of all things radio controlled, so he must have had something figured out there. Anyone?? :)
