choprods - I have recently bought a complete set of 34 Ford 3W molds. The guy who made the molds patterned them directly off a bone-stock 34 3W coupe. While you may not be interested in any fiberglass parts for your car, I can provide you with measurements from these molds. If you are interested in inner door panels, etc...I can build those for you if you would like. Unlike most other 'glass 34 bodies that I have seen, these molds are direct copies from the original Ford...no flat inner door panels here.

  3. Thanks CharlieLed-I will try to come up with the steel- but if its not too much trouble I would like the LENGTH measurement.I have a glass 3 w body here -I was mainly needing to know if ALL two door [openings] are same.?????

If you get in a jam....I have a friend that can make any part you want...he is expensive, but fast and accurate. He builds parts for Steves Restorations(34 steelroadsters). When he fabricates a part, it needs no filler to get it ready for paint.

  5. Thanks Hatch- I prob can't afford his parts!-I plan on getting some two door doors and using the insides of them/reskinning them with a compound curved panel [donated from some cars roof panel]!
I also wouldn't[couldn't] drive anything that was =-ALL-= steel! [IMG]I'd think I was in the TWILIGHT ZONE!!!

    Hey Kenny...
Try giving Don Weber a call. He's the guy in Loman Mo. that runs adds in Hemmings. I was at his place a few years ago and had just finished a 3 window from parts and pieces, another finished 3 window body, and had a 5 window track job he was going to rebuild if it didnt sell. the guy knows his stuff. I think his number is 573 636-3400.

  9. Thanks ,Chris-Don has been here at my shop- I will give him a try-Kenny

  10. no, the doors are not the same size but a good metal guy can cut and hack and make them work. chopperlance.com has the build up of a rough 34 three window that may help you. Steve's auto restorations has a lot of metal for patching. Roundy round cars have almost always had a rough, rough life.

Good luck. they are gorgeous cars. Check my tech on how to chop it.

Hey Kenny, since the cats out of the bag...I sold my old 3-Window to Web about 4 years ago. Donnie has done a few 34`s in the last few years, he knows his*****!
As fas as what Donnie has right now in the 34 department, I couldnt tell ya. PM me or give me a call at 573-657-9725, I`ll run over there with ya.

I think 3 window and 2 door sedan doors are the same...?

    Let me know-Tony

  12. they are not the same. I have built two. 3 window doors are expensive and unique but parts from the others can be made to work if your metal guy is good.

  13. hay-I AM MY METAL GUY!-I hate to be a pest- but can anyone tell me the answer to my QUESTION?
I know they are different tops on all the doors- but is the LENGTH of the door at beltline the same on a 3w and a two door sed or Vicky???????I jus dont have the two to compare.....

  14. no, nothing is the same. I had every 34 door at my disposal when I was building both my cars and only used pieces when chopping... that is it.

I answered your question long ago. they are not the same length. Close, but not the same.
    There.
If you are a metal guy just wheel out a new skin and be done with it.

The driver's side of my car looks like this because those doors are impossible to replace and I dont really care... no one asked me if it was fake! I suspect that a Vicky door would be harder to find and just as expensive. Plus it is not the same size.
Steve's sells three window skins (I think) from the belt line down.

shit man, now that I see that shot again, I should have never sold that thing.

  15. Listen Gooch- I was not trying to be smart- I dont have ANY doors to fix at this time just the door tops of the welded up stockers......I have a line on a pair of trampled Vicky doors that I was hoping to use the inners from to reskin. I do not have a wheel so that is not an option for me....I can however use an existing compound curved panel[ roof skin-'80s] to build a replacement skin.I cant believe that they are much different length at the point I asked about..and NO you should not have sold that car. one size fits all, which means you need to trim a little. but at 400 bucks a side you are done. He even has them with the belt line. No one can make them for you for cheaper. you can probably use the inners of any door and patch together a frame based on steve's skin. You have your work cut out for you! but what the hell, look what you get when you are done. [IMG]

  17. I'll bet the guy that bought it is one happy SOB!!

  18. I just went out and measure my 33 tudor, the door is 38 and 7/8 at the center of the beltline. I also need a LEFT door window garnish moulding, LEFT quarter window garnish moulding and a rear window garnish moulding, would like to hear from anyone that might haed some or a lead. Hope the measurement helps. Davey

  19. thanks DaveyDeuce!I am now answered- just needed to see a number. [IMG]

  20. Kenny, sell those Vicky parts! They are rare as chicken lips. I happen to have a few resources for stuff you need. All the $s are at work on a holiday weekend though! We have used SARs door skins, I would roll my own or as you mentioned find a skin that has the same curve. Door inners are not something you can order whole or in pieces. I can email you some pics how we made some out of sedan pieces. Or how we build an entire coupe/roadster out of raw stampings? Gene, my boss, has done dozens of 34s over the years and would be happy to answer any Qs you might have.

  21. You are welcome and good luck!! I as a kid in the 40s/50s seen a lot of good iron go away at the roundy round tracks, what a shame!! [IMG] OH WELL, proceed with caution! D [IMG]

    hi choprods i also measured my 33 3 window and get 38 7/8 .
i get the same thing on my two door sedan.
looking for 34 3 window tops also.

  23. Also, Tudor Sedan and 3 window doors are the same length. I would rob a Tudor for the inner structure and use your 3 window top.

  24. My thoughts exactly TDUDE----THANKS FOR THE HEADS UP- I am negotiating on the Vicky doors they sound nice-guy said cows have been walking on them! [IMG]I suppose that would make em cheap enough to use as inners and 'reskin" candidates?can you say BOVINE MASSAGE? [IMG]

He does church on Sunday plus it`s Easter.
Lohman is easy, Go over the river in Jeff, go west on Hwy.50 like your headed to Sedalia then turn left on Lohman road, theres and overpass there but I cant think of the road letter. He`s probably 10 miles or so total from the river bridge, thats 3 or 4 from hwy 50. He`s before you get into Lohman, if you make it to Lohman turn around and go back about 1 mile he`s on the east side of the road.

  28. What was that phrase? I think it was...........we dont give a damn how they do it in Kalifornia? [IMG]

  30. the original post was if they were the same. they are not. I may have mis-read the original post and it was clear to you guys but I read it as he wanted to use tudor doors. I held tudor door bottoms up to my openning and it did not fit at the bottom. It may have been a 33 door in my 34 hole or who knows, but it did not fit.

I am talking about the bottom. I have 3 window door tops if you find that they do indeed fit.

by the way, where did the original post go?
