Theres a 34 ford sedan I'm looking at that was originally a right hand drive car.. It has been converted to the normal left hand drive. Is there ANY DIFFERENCE between a left and right hand drive 34? Such as the body, frame etc...

You should be more concerned that the work was done properly.

The differences are pretty minor, holes in the ch***is, firewall stamping,
obviously the dash, steering setup, pedals..but that is all gone Im ***uming.

Again, the quality of the conversion is the important thing.

So. African cars most likely were made in Canada, look for C18 serial# markings on parts!!!

We sent alot of Aussie built cars to S/Africa from 1957 onwards,i'm sure Canada still built some cars rhd up until 66,so it's highly likely thats where it's from, Gaz!

Aussie cars are totally different body to US bodied cars and have a flat sill rather than a tapered sill. There is a spear filler above running board to fill the gap to the body. From what I can recall Canadian built RHD Fords were exported to Sth America until WW2, after that they went LHD. They continued RHD exports to Sth Africa and NZ as Australia built their own bodies. All the RHD fisher bodied cars I've seen here were complete knock down (CKD) from Canada and plated as such. Once here they were ***embled.
