Well, now you tell us (ha-ha). Realistically, it can be done with some degree of comfort, with a number of subtle tweaks. Mine is a 3" chop & a 5" channel with a Saginaw 4-speed. I used a set of Wilwood hanging pedals with firewall exterior master cylinders. I notched my trans hump to rest my gas pedal foot, which operates a small s**** pedal. My shifter is medium length, with a slight bend to the p***enger side, which gives me the room to switch my right leg from the gas to the brake. (Strangely enough, I found that shifter handle lying loose in a fairly modern truck in the junk yard.) My left leg has sufficient room to operate the clutch pedal. I do actually have my floor mounted hi-beam switch to the left of the clutch pedal, with sufficient room to operate the switch when needed. I have my E-brake handle just to the right of the trans hump on the p***enger floor. It really does not interfere with the p***enger, not that anyone wants to ride with me. I think they get a little jumpy. Yeah, well. Truth be told, the measurements are not a helluva lot different than my '90 Mazda Miata. I'm about 5'10" & about 160 & it works quite well. I am 65 years old, so my strength & stamina are not great. There is a little adjustment curve, but it had more to do with the height of my seat. I'm not saying that it's a hiway cruiser, but it is a real world hot rod for hot rod fun. Go for it!
As long as you keep full fenders on it then it will look good whether its channeled or not. 34 trucks channeled without fenders to me look stupid, but its all a matter of taste. As far as 2 or 3 pedals, hey, you have to drive it, whatever you want...
Might as well make it a crazy built, and lengthen the cab by adding to the doors, so you can run all the above. Chopped, channeled, and three pedals. Love the idea of an old Caddy power plant.
With a proper foot box instead of a stock toe board we could make it so you can run 3 pedals with a channel and a chop if that is what you want. You got a pic or two of the before I would like to see it choped and channeled before you started on it. '33/'34 ford truck is on my list of must own prior to taking a dirt nap.
I actually unchopped this one 30 years ago but I put a 305-350. I sat in the chopped cab sitting on the frame and got clostrophobic. I welded 2 cabs together to make one nice one. This current one one has 3 pedals and 5 forward gears.
ok ya'll asked so here's some pics and back story. I've started a build thread, but haven't updated in a while. pics 1 was when my dad orginally had it on the road in the early/mid 70's. it went through a housefire when I was 6 week old and was bought and sold several time sbefore lost. orginally 289/4spd pic 2 is when I brought it home again in 89 pic 3 is an in progress my first build--punched buick 231/powerglide (it was cheap and available) pic 4 how it looked when I sold it about 1994/5 pic 5 is how I brought it home in 08 pic 6 is the engine mock up--it's really a rough mock up just to so I could put the engine inside.
