My neighbor/friend of 17 years p***ed away a month ago. He has had this 34 plymouth sedan under a car port behind his house for atleast 12 years and has recently talked about working on it before his health took a turn for the worse. Me and my dad have been helping him get into bed every night, pick up groceries from the store and anything thing else he needed. He was a great guy in his 50's whos death was very unexpected. He had no kids, just a brother and sister as far as family goes and his sister lives out of state. I know the sister (she lived with him for years) but never met his brother (didn't come around much). I sold my caddys years ago so the wife could go to college. I would love to pick up a new project and would gladly pay but is it too early to talk to the family? Also How would I even bring it up? Any advice thanks in advance.
Just be honest with them. Tell them you have always admired the sedan and if the family ever decides to sell it you would like to know. By the way my first car (50 yrs ago)ever was a 33 plym. I still miss that car.
