Here are shots from today... The chassis is finished and the engine is running. Next, I push the chassis in the corner and get back to block sanding the body. After she is shiny black, I'll stick the body on for the last time, then wire her up and go around the block. Here is a quick video of her mill. (Click on the image) She is a 389 Pontiac (well..sort of, it is actually 462 inches) The same basic combination went 12.40s in my model A, so this car should run about that... Next update, she will be shiny black with the body on for teh last time. See ya, -Abone. PS. Let me know if that video doesn't open..
I dig it but I have one question about it, those monster radial tires... ever thought of running a big bias slick in the back and some skinny pie crusts up front. Other than that, another kick ass job.
Man, that looks killer. The chop is dead on...not too much. Black is the perfect choice too !!! But you already knew that.
Been waiting to see an update on this looking good! I guess i need more cubes to get my heap to mid 12s !!! haha See you in August Bro Lumpy
I'd rather follow your build threads than watch any t.v. show about building cars. You've just got some amazing talent. The Mercury you did was just so impresive and to be able to have painted it black after all the body work well that just says it all. This one looks like it's going to be just as fine.
Purdy! Motor sounds sweet. you've made some good progress. I need to visit and take a closer look sometime.
Thanks for thinking of me Gary... I have no interesting progress...currently sanding the last round of primer at this very minute. She will be black next Sunday if the weather is not goofy. Here is a shot I posted a week or so ago of the 3rd primer coat. Not very interesting, but it needs to be done. Next progress, she will be shiny... See ya, -Abone.
