I has start 'try' to set me in the driveshaft installation for my 32 stock Henry frame ( std 32 cross and Lincoln gear box ) I has find a 34 TQ tube and a driveshaft. Its 62" long 1934 and I think I has measured a 34 TQ before fitted to a a 32 frame at = 53.5". -Now its just a ruff question how to do this. I has 37 struts and bones. Question 1. One do cut this TQ tube just at the small end to transmission side, or ? Question 2. The 'turtle' to the speedo is around 4" from end and std 34 the bones connection is at 37.5" from rear axle. So how long will I has the bones ; as long as possible, but if I keep the connection stock 34 I need to angle the bones more. So what is the old way do this ? If I has the bones as long as possible this 37 bone's dont need be shortend that much. Question 3. The 34 driveshaft fit to my yoke on transmission. I guess I leave that side as it is and short it to banjo. I has a 37 ( I think ) 4.44 gear so its 6 splines piniong. Se picture of the 34 driveshaft and that end to banjo is inside 10 splines. So how to do this.
For the torquetube, shorten at the back end where the tube is consistent diameter. You can cut the bung off and adjust it to match the wishbones later. You might find you even want to shorten the wishbones for frame clearance on the sides. Now is also a great time to clock the front of the wishbone so the speedo turtle points wherever you might want it to for correct routing of the cable. For the driveshaft, it’s common to use a coupler from the solid shaft and machine one end of it to fit in the 32-34 tube. Then weld it up. But, I highly recommend waiting til the engine is mounted and the reared is hung to measure for proper length on these components in your chassis. Don’t trust anyone else’s measurements.
Ok so one cut them at big diameter. I dont think bones will hit frame but a good note. I guess I figure out the driveshaft end solution.
