I'm preparing a 346 for my project, have it mostly together, but have run into a problem... Information please.

I had 2 AAV-26 carbs for it. As it turns out, both had the same problem, that resulted in neither carb being usable. So, is there a more appropriate carb for use on this engine? It has that small footprint that seems to eliminate many options. Unfortunately, I'll be running the original single-carb manifold.

  2. Its a 4 bolt 2 bbl carb correct? you may try the small base Rochester 2 jet.

  3. I don't know what would fit but you can make an adapter. If fact do some searches (I know, sorry) you will find some info on modifying the manifold itself, you can even weld on new carb bases to end up with a 2 or 3 carb manifold. alot of info on this motor.

I've used a 318 Dodge truck for manual choke, but stock air cleaner doesn't fit. Closest would be Rochester or Carter from a 331" Cad or cheap '54 - '56 Olds if you can find one ...
