Hi, i'm progressing along with the rebuild on my engine - Engine all stripped now and parts are off to the hot tank for a good cleaning. Next step (after crack testing) is to order a rebuild kit . I've been looking around and i'm not sure where to go. The pictures on the various suppliers sites seem to be the same. Is this because they all are sourced from one manufacturer? or is there a stand out rebuild kit available from a source that someone here can recommend above the others?

They are very low production parts, so you should only expect one company to be making each part.

You can sink a lot of money into these things...if you want to....but you might not need, if you don't want to. Think about how many miles you plan to drive it, etc.

Make sure to get it very clean inside the water jackets, too.

Which rebuild kit did you end up going with tktony? About to start tearing down my 346. Any other tips from the rebuild? Never done a flatty.

Not sure you will hear from him. He has not been on the site since August of 2018. If you want to get his attention, at least tag the guy. @tktony

My experience with sleeves is that they are not brand specific. They are sold by size.

Any reputable machine shop can get sleeves for anything in a day or 2.
