I built a '32 roadster with a flathead caddy,,,,,LOVED THE MOTOR!!!! They make lots of smooth torque and power. I kept a spare 346 for a future project.
Glad to see this old thread! I've got to spread the love for the 346 Cad motor, I have one in a '37 Cadillac sedan, they do make a lot of torque, good thing too as the car is 5000lbs.
Still looking for a project car to put mine in. I like the idea of a small light car with the big flatmotor stuffed in it, T roadster would be just about right.
I didn't realise the blue 32 was Kevan Sledge's . Gee he does it right. Here it is when it was cream. I'm actually hoping I can incorporate the cad 46 diff as well. Not sure about the track differences yet.

Any Cadillac flathead thread is a good one. Keep posting, there is never enough info out there to satisfy most appetites for these engines.
I think on one of the other Cadillac flathead threads way back when it was mentioned that somebody was making them, but that is a good few years ago now. I made extractors and got a full 3/8" flange plate cut out to match my exhaust gaskets from a laser cutting shop. Only thing was I then needed longer studs to account for the added thickness of material. Plus I needed a 2nd gasket that was trimmed to fit for the intake manifold which sits on top of the new exhaust flanges. Checkout my attached pic's. I did end up getting a 2nd set of flanges cut out as I decided not to have that opening that heats under the intake manifold. I'll use the other set on a 2nd engine I have one day I guess.
Very nice! Thanks for the pics. I found this on the interwebs too! http://www.victoryheaderflanges.com/flanges_cadillac346exhaust.html
Yes, now you have posted that is the name of the outfit I was thinking of, the name posted here ages ago... Dealing direct with the laser cutter I got me 2 sets of flanges cheaper and sourced longer studs from a shop who made U bolts, as they were best placed to cut threads on tensile shaft.
Be 20 years soon since this thread commenced.. any updates on members and their flathead Cadillac's.. Stovebolt, if still about, wondered where you were in Victoria.. as I'm here too.. A link to you tube vid of my Flat Caddy on one of its first runs a few years back now..
