Would love to get my e-brake handle chromed to pair with my chrome swan in my AV8. Got the lower end dis***embled, but I can’t figure out or find reference to how the ****on/rod and spring come out of the handle housing. Also wonder how hard it’ll be to get it back in, being that the ***embly is under spring tension. Anybody done this?
Also wanted to share a quick mount trick. Took a spare 35-36 trans mount, cut off the e-brake mount, trimmed it, flipped it and worked out great as a mount when using later model or F1 trans mount.

I have shortened Model A units. As I remember, remove all the bolts in the lower section, then you should be able to pull up on the plunger until you see a small cross pin. Knock it out with a small drift , and slide the works out the bottom.

If the knob is stuck after knocking out the pin; treat it carefully as there isn't much metal to the rod where the pin p***es thru it. Soaking and gentle tapping will usually get it loose.

And don't try to unscrew the knob, knock out the pin. Ask me how I know.:(

Haha! That was my first thought, good thing I didn’t pursue this direction.
