Here are a couple I really like.... First here is my dad's.....I photoshopped some different wheels to make it H.A.M.B. appropriate.... ...and here is a 36' that I absolutely love....I think I first saw it in some pictures from the mooneyes show....I'm sure it belongs to a H.A.M.B.er... Awesome thread.....'36 Fords are my Favorite!!!!
Danny, Right now I'm changing over to 46/48 juice brakes. Off go the wide fives and on go the gennies. Still deciding on what color for the wheels. 46 ford hubcaps, maybe rings. If the rubber rake doesn't look good, I'll reverse the spring eyes. I'll post a pic. when I'm done, should be two more weeks. Maybe then you would approve?
so while you '35-'36 guys are listning.....What the heck is the difference between coupe and sedan rear fenders....and can sedan fenders be converted to coupe fenders. Pictures would really help me.
i'm running 6.00x16 all the way around (37 olds wheels from levis classic). it's kind of a illusion on the rear, that fender got tagged on the crown and bowed the edge out, it's about 3-4" from where it should be...........the rear fenders are next. Dante will most likely get those too, bodywork takes me 3 times as long as a real bodyman (plus all 4 fenders were really badly dented) and i want this car done in my lifetime.
from what i've heard you can convert them, the strip where it bolts to the body is deeper, meaning the distance from the center of the fender to edge were it bolts to the body is a little longer. i've heard you just weld a strip to the edge, drill new holes and fill the old ones. Kyle(666): the hood is different, it has a nose the curves down to meet the grill, the 35 hood is flat where it hit's the grill. also the sides are different where the touches the fenders. but sheetmetal and a welder can always change that.....

I have friends in yorba linda I may be visiting this year, if I do i'' give you a shout and come see that lovely car of yours in the flesh. i would love a '35 rodaster, keeping an eye out but they seem to get silly money and dont come around too often. here is another couple of '36 from the UK, dont know an awful lot about them but they are both nice cars. there is a few more '36's over here but dont have any pics of them just now - however there are only another 2/3 35's as far as I know.
I don't have pics of mine to show, but there is a rough 35 5 window coupe, and a genuine 35 roadster pickup in pieces put away in my storage container. Michael
Really different and I will see if I can come up with some pics later today if someone doens't. Almost impossible to convert the two. 35 fenders are alot different than 36's too. Just to start, from the dividing charicter peak on both years the sedan fender pretty much flattens out and has a short flange that bolts into the fender arch on the body. Coupe fenders drop down more and have more length. They create more of a pontoon shape than the sedan fenders do. 35 fenders have the crease farther outboard making the tail light stalks different for both years also. And viewed at the side 35 fenders have an inverse curve like a 34 fender does (front and back) while a 36 fender bubbles up more. to change the grille between the years you need to replace the whole clip, fenders, inner fenders, hood and such. Other identifiers, 35 fenders are one pice 36s have a separate piece that bisects the horn grill, 35 hoods have four slats, 36's have three. Head lights are really different, 35s are more like 34s in the way they mount, 36s socket over a formed bump in the fender and also have the "frog eye" bubble lense. And last short bit, is the one identifyer on the body, 35s have a smooth cowl panel under the hood with a punched hole for the hood latch to catch into. 36s have a stamped X in the panel with a rivited on strap to catch the hood.
I also hear that the fenders for 3 window and 5 window, roadster and cabriolet are different as well, but there is some interchange amonst that group. Also there are some 35's with the X stamped on the cowl, it may have been done late in the year, or they may have wanted to use up the 35 front sheetmetal with the new 36 body/cowl.
As far as I know, coupe/roadster/cabriolet rear fenders are all the same. And you can put 35 rear fenders on a 36 if you have to. I have seen a couple '35s with the x too.
Can you post some pics Squiggy? Do you have any pics of the process? $1000 each for junk fenders is starting to get ridiculous.

Hear is a few pics of my '36 Roadster and it probably the only fenderless '36 roadster around. The story was a guy working for Barris built this car back in the day and did the section to make it look more like a '34 roadster. The section work is really nice. It is channeled about 8 inches over a 2x4 frame. Crome 40 Axle and bones, F-1 brakes, 327 chevy with a powerglide, '56 chevy rear end, '40 ford column shift, '34 front grill, Duval windsheild.
This car is badass! I'm sure you got a mint for it....I was lucky enough to see it in person at Richard Grave's place in LBC a while back...
well there - me again... since sticking my original post up ive come into ownership of an original '35 roadster thats only had 2 owners and 57000 on the clock - only thing that isnt original to the car is the engine. the car has a tag on the bulkhead that says it was made in canada for dagenham (uk ford plant) and is right hand drive. all ive done to the car is give it a wash as it had sat in the fellows garage for the last 3/5 years and he hadnt really driven it, anyway heres a few of pics...
That roadster rules weemark! Congrats. I guess since the cat is out of the bag on the concept, and work is underway, I can post some pics of the Hill and Tully Special underway at Hot Rod Chassis. The motor is a 462 Lincoln mated to a T-56, full tube chassis, bomber seats that we are making, and wide five wheels rolling on Coker blackwall Firestones. Just waiting on some patch panels to come in so we can start cutting. Coming soon to a Salt Flat near you.
