The frame is off of the frame bench now. Yesturday I fixed the one body mount that was rusted heavily. This morning I spent some time with a die grinder cleaning up the under side of the crossmembers to make sure that there is absolutely nothing that can dig into the springs.

Nice work. Paying attention to the details is going to really add up on this car... should be pretty awesome.

Awesome! Watching! Thank you for not turning it into a '36, also! Not enough '35 coupes running around.

I got my 5 speed today thanks to some trading. I am going to be using a '57 Ford 9 inch rearend. I am going to use the transverse spring and the original bones attached to a Johnny Joint.

Cool another build thread. Great work so far. I like it that your repairing the frame and not looking to just replace it. Nice work

Yes it is! it should last much longer than a heim joint and if I ever have a problem with it, it is completely rebuildable.

Great build and nice work so far!

Is that a '57 car or pickup rear end? Just asking because of the bolt pattern and which wheels you are planning on using...

This morning I fixed my front wishbone. The busing holes were slopped out. I cut the bad sections out. Then I put a corredt OD piece of brass through the hole and welded it up.

Yesterday I started to smooth out the rearend. I finished it this morning, but I forgot to take a pic after it was done. This afternoon I started to mock up where I need to place my Johnny joint for the wish bones. I picked up a nice windshield frame and a waterfall. Between going to a hot rod school and working at a restoration shop you get to meet a lot of people who have parts.

I painted some front end pieces this weekend so that I can assemble them this week. I got these neat old shock mounts from my teacher today.

Are those shock mounts for the front or rear. I've got a pair of the fronts if you need.

    Nice work. Jake

You don't need to kill anyone.....I've seen your work. You could build one from an old Mack cab, a few sheets of 18 gauge and some used pipe cleaners...:D

Yes I still have the pick up. It got put to the side since there is more work I can do on the '35 at school. I think the '35 will be finished first now.

See........now wasn’t that better than coming home and spend time with your girlfriend? ;)

That Jonny Joint should handle the flathead no problem.

  26. Yeah, the car rear-ends had a smaller lug bolt pattern and will not match the old Ford
5 1/2"; pickups will (also have the larger axle bearings and brakes).

If I recall correctly, the dash "waterfall" was part of the deluxe trim package. Can anyone confirm??

Your avatar will make a neat "BEFORE" pic; great shot. How many years do you suppose she sat there??

  29. This is an awesome coupe, 35's rock my world. I am impressed with your school choice, this is learning the right way, and sounds like your instructor is very supportive. Good Luck with it all. ~Sololobo~

I got to see her wednesday, thursday and friday. I had fun painting the parts but after that I was pretty bored. Maybe I should start drawing again
