I sure didn't have much fun today. Mostly just got frustrated. Motivation was about zero after this morning. Better hope you get to school before me tomorrow or those pics could mysteriously disappear.

I will be putting a whole new floor in, new rockers, quarter patch on passenger side, cowl patches, decklid inner structure and the doors will need plenty of attention too.

I'm sure glad your replacing the stress cracked metal, that way it shouldn't come back to bite you in the ass later after it's painted.

I am very impressed with your skill and dedication to this project! You are really doing an impressive job. As someone else has already said, never sell this car! You will always regret it ! Don't ask me how I know. Always add, never subtract!

Me too. I much prefer the nose of a 35 compared to a 36. Maybe it is from the influence of the Miller Fords. I find a lot of tin and am still waiting to find a Ford 3 window. Nice score.

Just found this thread again, it does sit very nice. Did the back end drop about the amount you expected? Hope my 40 sits like that. Saw your update about the angles on the crossmember, i found out the hard way as i did mine on the bench. Thought my jig was right, but it didn't take into account the angle that the crossmember sat at in the frame, had to do it again!! Now subscribed.

I really admire the work you are doing, especially at such a young age! I hope you keep this car forever.

Looking really good! It's funny that you used two curved L-angles to make the drip rail u-channel, that's my plan as well.

This isn't my first project and dedication isn't an issue when it is my all time favorite car. I would never sell this car, it is my dream. I actually can't sell the car because it was one of the stipulations about the car being given to me.

I have showed this thread to the guy I got the car from and he is extatic about the progress and the style. He is also partial to '35 Fords, I'm fairly sure that his first car was a '35 sedan.

Yes the back sits exactly where I planned for it to sit. I will have to C the frame for a little more clearance. Wish I would've had more time in chassis class to finish everything and learn more from the coolest teacher in the school.

Thank you for the compliment. I've been around hot rods my entire life so I have had lots of time to learn and many people who taught me a great amount especially my dad (stlcrzn) and TomH. I was always in the garage with my dad when he was building his '36 sedan. He has a cool pic of me in the garage as a kid maybe he will post it sometime.

Thanks for the kind words. Using the L-angles really simplifies the process and it is actually very stout as well. Good luck with your project as well, I've been watching.

Today I got the trunk gutter tacked in. I'm fairly happy with it. The backend is coming along now.

No problem I will post some good pictures of it when everything is all welded up. It will be awhile though because I am going to cut the tail pan off to straighten it and do a frenched license plate.

Today I cut the rear tailpan off. It will make it easier to straighten and now I can clean up the supports behind it. It will also make it easier to do a frenched in license plate. I started to clean it up some and take some of the dents out.

Nice work kid ! I like the way they taught you to round the corners on your patch panels , Harder to fit but easier to blend .... :)

Oh and the expression is " Born into it " .... When your older , " All my life " will have a better ring to it ! :D

    Jealous ...
