Looking to make it an early custom. Nothing really fancy or over done. Just want a clean simple subtle car.

I finished modifying the inner brace for the tailpan today. I had to make a recess for the license plate. On Saturday I took my tailpan down to work and my boss helped me do some pick and file work. About another 4 hours of pick and file and it should be done. I test fit the tailpan back on today to make sure everything was going to work ok.

Ya I wish I could have it running/driving by then but I doubt that will happen.

I am done with school next Thursday so I wont get to work on it as much after that. The car will be going down to work with me at A&A Restorations so will still get to work on it from time to time.

I hope it won't be too distracting while you’re working on customers stuff. ;)

The back looks great, no way could you have made it look that good without removing it from the car.

I wont get distracted. Ill just work that much harder so that I have time to work on it.

Its a good thing I just cut it off instead of listening to Mr. Negative Nancy

Very nice work. Good old fashioned body work...pick and file...pick and file. Nice to have metal thick enough to do it to. Good luck at your new full time job. Jake.

I got the inner tail stucture welded back on today. I also put some POR on it to prevent it from rusting again

Have you tryed the Eastwood stuff?
if you havent it is more user friendly than the POR and dries much faster you can also thin it a tad and spray it! the other down side to POR is if you put it on steel and have to go back and weld in that area its real hard to weld even if you grind it good. just my .02

I put the side braces back in today and I finished picking dents on the skin. If all goes to plan the tailpan will be back on the car tomorrow!

I know you would much rather have a superior '35 Ford over that '36 you have but you aren't going to get mine
