After 3 block sandings and body work I finally put (hopefully) the last coat of primer on this ****er. I needed to see it back together and test fit everything so I worked on it till 10pm on Saturday. Finally got to see my whitwalls and caps on it!!! Now if I can make time to swap out the ****py tilt wheel for my 46 ford column I'll be real happy. The last pic is a photoshop of hopefully how it will look after I replace the rear suspension with notched frame. After test fitting and final mechanical stuff back apart it comes for paint.
It's coming along great, which is more than I can say about mine. Some days I think I'll never live long enough to see it finished.............
It's always nice to see everything in primer bolted together for one last check before paint. Something a pro shop can't afford to do most times. Bob
Big thanks to everyone. I threw the back lights on tonight. Looking to get it on the road this week. . Kenneth31coupe...I'd like to go candy brandywine over gold but being I'm gonna drive the **** out of it I'd be better with single stage maroon for touch up reasons.
I think single stage maroon would look better anyways. Simple, traditional paint jobs really stand out in a sea of insane paintjobs. Good looking car, cant wait to see it come together.
I also think single stage will fit the build better and I'm sure that's what's gonna happen. But man o man candy brandywine is just ***s in the sun on all those round body parts!! Plus my friend Jesse is one of the all time baddest candy painters on the planet. . Sting Ray...I'm lucky enough to be able to letter race cars at Lejuene Custom Paint. Jesse was the painter along with the now retired Bob Gerdes at the world famous Circus Custom Paint. So the shop is always full of funny cars and other killer race cars. And that's why it's so hard for me to get that candy brandywine out of my head.
