Exhaust gasket leak had me pull the shorty/hugger headers off my 34' Coupe's small block Chevy. Well, sand blasting revealed some cracks and flange distortion. I doubt they are worth repairing. Any leads on good quality headers? I'm considering going stainless or chrome with heat coating inside vs painting steel.
    Thanks in advance.

If SS headers are available, I’d have the place you buy them from send directly to Jet Hot for ceramic coating. Check their site. Have a somewhat crime-looking coating. Would probably “pop” better on prepped SS.

Company to JH to you, saves a lot in shipping cost and time as well.

If new gaskets don't fix your leaky headers, here's a tip, if your headers have a solid flange tying all the tubes together, make a cut in the flanges, they will pull down independently.

All of the shiny stuff is going to have a disclaimer that the engine must already be tuned and not run hot, see step 6. They also suggest coating the inside with grease, see step 5. They also say that you must check fit and any reasons to return them without installing them! See step 1. Oh, and polish them then run them in with exhaust disconnected.
You should read all the other fine print, too. At this point, you may consider fixin' what you got.

I like Sanderson headers. Their flange is really thick and the header is well made.
