Anyone have any suggestions on who would be a good person to get a 1972 350 rebuilt in or around Bartlesville Oklahoma?

  2. Stock rebuild? Very hard to find anyone who can completely rebuild a motor for less than a new GM crate.

I'm not a professional mechanic by any means but I ***emble my own motors. I have the block and crank machined as needed and have an automotive machine shop rebuild the heads and rods and press on the pistons. There are a half dozen good books that will take you through the process. It can be intimidating at first but it is really not that hard to do.

  3. Sir, the absolute best bang for the buck would be a GM crate engine from Jegs. They had free shipping as well, maybe still do too. The 260 H.P. one is the deal of the day, warranty too!! You could also buy a short block and some GM Vortec Heads and bolt then on yourself. The heads are only $299 each, most machine shops will charge you that for your old heads to do it right, and the new heads make unbelievable power and torque. I believe whole heartedly in giving business to a local shop provided the local guy stands behind his work 100%. If you can't find one, this is the way to go, All the best, TR
