I just bought a 350 when I tore it down I found that there was a piece broke off on the bottom of one of the cylinders. I was wondering if this is going to affect being bored and rebuilt?

Looks pretty thin to me …. If your planning on a bore I’d have the shop sonic test for thickness….may be a coreshift block. Has it been bored before ?

I would be just as interested in what looks like some fairly deep pits further up the bore. Cavitation damage perhaps, or just debris and a weird camera angle playing with shadows? Probably looking at a sleeve in that hole either way.

Won't hurt a thing , dress the possible sharp edges with a die grinder , you'll be fine

yup, I've run a block like that...

And I think the other stuff in the bores is just dirt/debrish that hasn't been wiped off.

a reminder to be careful when disassembling a motor.....last guy likely tried to drive a rod/piston out without noticing it was hung up on the bore....
