354 hemi question

    I have a 354 hemi and #1 cyl. has got lots of corosion from water. Can I get a sleave for it. The rest of the motor is great.

    I have the same problem with a 331 Hemi that needs a sleeve. Looking for someone local to do it,which would be a plus.

    Any decent machine shop should be able to do it. Look for one that deals with drag or race cars...
     
  4. Get a 3/32" thick sleeve. By using the thin sleeve, you take less out of the original wall thickness. I used to buy those from LA Sleeve company. I left a step at the bottom of the original bore but if the new sleeve is put in correctly, it isn't necessary.

    i had to do that w my 331, no problem! Supposedly race teams are sleeving new blocks to get better strenth/ridgidity in the walls. Any competant shop should be able to do it.
