How far can you bore a L8-D7 354 Hemi ? The motor is a 1958 truck engine,it is already bored.060 over.
    Thanks Tony

In case no one has mentioned this...these engines have huge core shift issues. NO, not everyone of them, but most of them and 0.060 is problematic in all of them.

Sonic check the walls to see what, if anything, is left. The remaining wall thickness, or at least the thin spots, will determine what you get to do (how much you get to spend).

Without checking all of the holes you don't know what can be done.

The thicker the cylinder walls you have, the better off you are. If you are boring to increase cubic inches you are wasting valuable cylinder thickness. I would clean up the cylinders with as little boring as possible. If you want to increase the cubes, buy a crankshaft with a longer stroke. Just my opinion! Goldy

I am back again. If you are only having a problem with one or two cylinders condition then I would consider sleeving them.

:D You can ask all you want, but the only way to know for sure is with a sonic check, as Gary stated. Anything less is just a crap shoot.
