I have this Cloyes timing set that is marked on the box as being for "early hemi". As far as I can find it is for a 79 Cordoba 360. Could they be the same timing set or did someone mark it wrong?

  2. timing chains for 331/354 hemis and LA (318, 340, 360) are interchangeable. That is a standard upgrade for hemis.

I will add to the comment above. A LA Mopar timing set is a direct replacement if its a short nosed cam, long nosed is a different issue.

  5. Yep. But I think the long nose cams only came in the early 331s? my '52 331 had a long nose, I bought a JC Whitney later 331/354 cam that took the LA gears. Just built a '54 331 which had the short cam too. Worst case, you will need to get a later model cam. Got my new grind from Hot Heads.

I used a 360 timing set in my 354 and a reground 56 Imperial cam. After 45k miles it is still doing quite well!
