`36/37 Hibrid coupe

I have just got a couple of pictures that a mate dug out of a car that turned up at the drags around the mid to late `80`s.I have never seen the car and do not know if it still exists...I have just posted the pix on a Hot Rod site over here trying to get some info on it.
It seems to be a 36 rear half with a 37 front from the screen forward...it seems to join up pretty good from what it shows in the photos.Definately a one of a kind..

Split windshield?

 

Weird. Not sure why anyone would do that to a '36? The two piece and apparently peaked windscreen is the strange part

 

I think that is a well known British car with known history...I saw it as a restored car about 1970, I think red and black. From memory I think it was built up from two wrecks, 1936 and 7, when close to new.

 

Well, there you go. That makes perfect sense.
