Got a '36 with a '40 steering gear box and CE spindles with dropped steering arms and the drag link is about a 1/2" too long when adjusted all the way in. Is the fix to add more threads on drag link shaft or is there an easier way?

  2. can i assume you are using a dropped axle that is narrower than stock? hard to narrow a stock drag link ...i just make a new drag link the correct length with two tie rod ends

You assumed correctly, I forgot to mention that. I had the same problem with the tie rod as well and shortened it and threaded deeper into the rod ends. Making a drag link is beyond my abilities. Guess I will try and add more threads to the drag link which hopefully will allow me to adjust in further. Thanks for responding.
