Projects 36 ford custom build (MISS SCARLET)

Discussion in 'Traditional Customs' started by kippers 34, Jul 5, 2013.

  1. Hey Kip.That notch in the frame looks really good.I really like what you are doing trying to keep the old untouched look.Great fabrication....Kenneth.

  2. Thanks Kenneth. Trying to make her look like she would have if built in late 40's. Kipp.

  3. Next up is tranny mounts. I estimate I will need them to be about 2" taller so raising to the top of X member will give me most of that. A spacer will fine tune from there. .[IMG]

  4. So I cut them off and raised the mounting pad flush with the top of the old mount. .[IMG]

  5. With the pads tacked in place I formed a piece to go under the pad to tie the bottom back to the top piece. Then cleaned everything up and ready to start a little rust repair. .[IMG]

  8. So the bad area was cut out and a replacement panel was made from an old frame rail. [IMG]

  9. After the panel was welded and smoothed then the same was done under both body support pocket's. .[IMG]

  14. Now because I dident want my frame to be weak because of patches I made boxing plates. And because I am a gluten for punishment I drilled them. .[IMG]

  23. I was thinking to maybe turn her into a three window. With a roof and doors it wouldent be that much work. .[IMG]

  24. So I set the body back on the frame. I had to trim the bottom of the fire wall a little after raising the engine and then everything went in to place. .[IMG]e [IMG] .

  25. I knew that weather I changed the roof or not the floor needed to be repaired firs so I cut it out and got ready for the new floor. .[IMG]

  26. The radius rods were now to close to the floor for correct travel. So this will need to be addressed while installing new floor. I wanted to use the stock seat so raising the floor seemed a last resort. .[IMG]

  28. 36 3 window roof and doors??

That's one heck off a find! I'd say go three window! You got the skills to do it.

  29. Floors sitting in car. I ordered these floors when I started the car (thankfully) so that I would have them when needed. They were promised in 3 months. It took 4 more months of constant persuading to get them. Afterwards I learn that wait is sometimes several years and so I felt lucky. They are definitely beautiful floor panels and fit extreamly well. .[IMG]

  30. Thanks a lot. I was having a hard time deciding which way to go either 3 window or to figure out how to chop a 5 window and make it look bitchen. I have seen a couple done right that nailed it.
