Anyone out there have a bare 1936 Ford frame with front fenders/radiator removed that could measure center-to-center between the holes in the brackets that come up off the frame to support the headlights? Not sure if this measurement varies on sedan, vs coupe vs convertible, but my car is a 5w coupe. Another useful measurement would be the center-to-center distance between the holes in the brackets used to mount the radiator. Fumbling in the dark here on restoring an old '36 frame and have learned a LOT of things NOT to do, and a few positive things. I'll be glad to discuss in a PM if anyone has thoughts about doing this. I have the Wescott Auto drawing, but it does not show the headlight measurement and is very difficult to interpret relative to which measurements to use on the radiator mounting holes. BTW, it also has numerous dimensional errors, but is better than nothing by a great deal.
From the front of the frame edge top two are 5.5" and 7.5". Bottom one is 6.5". Photo shows different because of camera angle. I'd drill the bottom one first with the fender bolted to the body and the bracket bolted to the fender then drill the other two through the bracket. The bracket leans slightly towards the firewall when done. Hope that helps. Rad's in so I can't provide the other dimension at the moment. Can come out quickly if no one else replies. Oh and that is the coupe in my avitar. Frames interchange so I asume it would be the same for 36. Wescott is out on some of their A frame measurments too, but bless them for making those available. Doug.
