Maybe get kicked out but.....thinking about replacing the 6.5x16 goodyear bias with some modern radials...... Suggestions on tires for front /rear wide 5 tires....215/85/16 rear....fronts ???? How tall/wide have you run front/rear on 4 in wide, stock wide 5 ...with/wo tubes..no white walls...going on 36 ford coupe....stock I beam, stock buggy rear Like the Cokers but...looking for options
If you have the original 3.5" or 4" wide rims, I don't think they are wide enough to allow a 215 mm (8.6") cross section tire to assume it's design shape. Normally a tire of that width would use, at minimum, a 5" rim up to 6.5' or 7", with a 6" probably being ideal. Not saying it can't be done, just questioning the resulting performance of the tires. And I am saying this being a radial tire fan, not opposed to their use. Though I am not necessarily a fan of Coker Tire, they do have some Excelsior brand radials that may be worth looking into for your purposes. I belive they have more compatible sizes available. Ray
Just looking for more cost effective options to Coker and DB. Prefer radicals for the long drives.... Keeping the wide 5s so my options may be limited...thanks
