Hot Rods 36 ford with 52 truck flathead oil pan clearance issues

    the problem is that the arm that comes off of the steering box can only go on two ways, it hits the pan.
    anyone have a solution? Thanks

    File the little wide spline in the pitman to look like all the other splines. Then you will have an infinite adjustment. Use a small triangle shaped file.

    But this still might not let you clear the pan.

    Thanks for the all the responses, we will try a file and will probably have the bend the radius rod. Best site ever!

    Moving the pitman arm solves nothing.
    Modify the truck pan with a hammer or move the sump back by cutting & welding.
    The best fix is a '49 or '50 Mercury pan.
