    Beware parts store switchgear! :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    Drove the roadster into town this morning for breakfast (my wife, refusing to ride in car with no heater when it's 26 degrees, drove her new Fusion). When we got to the restraunt, my wife informed me the brake lights on the roadster weren't working. AGAIN!:mad:

    That's the third parts store brake light switch I've put in that thing, and the third one that's failed. The contacts are on a br*** strip that is pushed apart by a collar on the plunger inside the case. After a few cycles, they evidently lose their "springiness", and don't close. No brake lights. Great. Luckily, it was her following me, not somebody else, so I didn't get rear ended.

    I stole the one off the Diamond T, since it's not going anywhere for awhile. It's genuine Delphi, GM issue, and it works.

    i wonder if maybe a 12 volt aftermarket motorcycle type switch would hold up better ?

    Is this an inline switch? I've never used those, and prefer the lever kind activated by the pedal arm.
