i'm running 36 spindles on my roadster, bought a standard steering hairpin and then though oh ****! as the bolts are narrower and smaller. doe's anyone sell a hairpin for the earlier spindles with the smaller bolt pattern?

NOPE, you should note that the spindle snout length on the 36 spindle is the same length as the 37-48 spindle. The 35 spindle looks the same but has a longer snout. So if you got some 37-48 spindles you can use the hairpin arm for your side steer and be back in business.. Not knowing exactly what you are trying to achieve you might want to look in to 32-34 stock spindles for the side steer application.
