'36 vs.'39 Ford frame question?

    What are the differences? Can a '36 go directly on a "39 Frame? If not, what modifications are necessary? Thanks.

    '35 to '40 are the same.

    front crossmember is different
     
  4. the car in my avatar is on a `40 frame. a few holes were different and the radiator mounts had to be changed

    36's don't have the sidemount boxes do they? Should be easy to remove from the later frame though.

    i have a 39 frame under my 36. no problem. motormount cushion holes are a different size so i just got later cushions. no big deal. have both at the shop in tacoma, pm me if you want to come by and compare them...

    Its the pickups (all years) that don't have the side mounts
