Hot Rods 360 mopar in a shoebox.

  1. Has anybody seen or put a 360 small block mopar in a '49-'51 Ford shoebox?

    That would be an interesting swap. I've seen physically larger engines stuffed in them.

    A buddy dropped a 331 hemi into that year group Merc....

    I have often thought about putting one of my 340's in my '51 Ford Coupe. Never done it tho.

    center sump oil pan helps, but the demise of the sunbeam tiger came when chrysler took it over and didn't have a v8 that would fit...

    The 331 I mentioned earlier is rear sump. In the case of the Sunbeam Tiger the problem wasn't the sump, but the LA having a rear dizzy, where the SBF was front dizzy.
     
  10. Gold Mountain is correct. Vans and pick up trucks have a rear sump. But be careful not to get a 318 pan. It won't fit the 360's larger mains. Gene.
