Suggest a good tune-up/rejuvenation with FULL maintenance of the brake system and all filters & fluids(wheel bearings, power steering, transmission, rear end, as well as all zerk points) &, unless you know for sure they are less than 3yrs old, wiper blades, ALL belts & hoses, ESPECIALLY the heater hoses to the under seat heaters!!(Most people don't know about them, let alone think about changing the hoses to them, & Mr. Murphy just LOVES to say "Hello" at the worst possible time!!) Once you do the service, drive her : you will find that, especially for her time period, she will be surprisingly "spry", & certainly able to keep up in traffic!

Brake system needs a full rebuild, wheel cylinders leaking, treadle-vac is seized, looking to upgrade to a modern dual reservoir master and booster. I'm currently working on freeing up the front parking brake cable so at least I have parking brake. I'm new to these 50's FoMoCo vehicles, am I not supposed to run the engine while park iis engaged, heard something about blowing out the trans seals if I do.

Good call on the under seat heaters, took me a while to figure out what the heck that box with hoses was. I'll probably just loop if off for now to get her yard driving.

I haven't been "involved" in quite a while, but when I was, I found Lincoln & Continental Owners Club(LCOC) & The Road Race Register to be sources of information & sometimes parts. RockAuto Parts has replacement wheel cylinders(new replacements are easier than rebuilding the originals), as well as some other parts. Suggest purchasing a Motor's Manual('55 through '60 will have your '55 Lincoln), & keep an eye out for owner's manuals & service bulletins for your year both online & at swapmeets... Fortunately you are close enough to the Hershey Swapmeet to be able to take advantage of the "Mother Lode" for parts, literature, & information... &, of course, the HAMB!! LOL! Also check over on the FORD BARN, as these are a Ford product, & do show up on the site from time to time...

Well looks like the 341 is going to need a full rebuild, found stuck valves, bent push rod and bore scope shows all cylinders equally stuck. Looks like she was a oil burner for a long time.

With pistons alone almost $100 a piece I'm tempted to do an engine swap, 390, 460 ?
Anyone know of a piston source other than Egge?

I will be swapping in a 368 into my 57 F100, and it will be coupled to a 53-54 Lincoln dual range hydramatic. Plenty of room and will use the ram horn manifolds. I say: GOPHER IT!
