Picked up a nice 37 chevy tudor today and looking to convert front brakes to disc . Anyone know if I can get a spindle or kit to convert from stock to this?
I used An ECI conversion kit on my 37 but it was a straight axle car . Does your car have a solid axle or IFS?
I second lumpy. ECI ,and others, all have kits. No need to swap spindles. I’m also ***uming straight axle.
Doesn't the control arm suspension use the same spindles as the solid beam axle? I had a guy show me his '37 he converted to disc brakes by using Econoline E100 spindles and a disc brake conversion for the E100. He said those spindles went right on and only needed some shims to take up space between spindles and axle ends. Chevs of the 40's also shows this kit: https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/shop/...&showcase=&searchtype=FT&method=KeywordSearch
My 37 has a Master Power Brake kit on the straight axle, it has a custom made caliper bracket and rear bearing spacer/sleeve, the rest is a standard disk brake from '70s GM A-body and F-body cars. Master cylinder is from a manual brake disk/drum Chevelle.
Has IFS front. I know i can get straight axle kits but would like to not change ifs if don't have to. Thanks guys!
