I'm in the process of pulling apart my '37 Lasalle box. I've got the cluster out and the input shaft bearing out, but now I can't get the synchro to come out of the shifter fork. Is there something I'm missing here? I pulled apart my '38 box and don't remember having this problem with the side shifter. Any help appreciated.

  2. Pull the tail shaft housing off and get that rear bearing off the shaft. that will allow you to swing the main shaft enough to get the synchro off and out. The 37 is a little tighter than the later CAd or Olds boxes.
