Anybody know how much to narrow a 37 Ford pickup grille to look right in a 34 Ford? Jacobs coupe is haunting me - I'd like to find a grille and kinda copy his yellow car.

I would think if you scaled it to the '34 grille size you would be right on.

Another thought. Call Jerry or Jason Slover at Pete and Jake's (they own the place) and ask them to measure the real deal. They own the origional Jake '34, it's usually sitting in their showroom.

  5. George Poteet put one on a '34 Roadster that looked pretty damn kewl. It was featured in a Rodder's Journal issue...but not sure which one.

DO they own Jake's car too? or just the California kid? Pretty slow Mark - as you know we're moving soon and I have my entire garage jammed into a storage building. The coupe's sitting at a buddy's place and the ElCy is doing double duty as a moving van - I'm gonna need to get the inside of the box repainted before Canats. It's getting pretty scratched up. The new house won't be ready til September, so we're homeless for a couple of months. Gonna bum a room fron my daughter - she stayed with us for 20+ years so when she offered a room for 2 months I thoght it would be good. Then I need to build my new shop after that - 32' square with a 8' x 8' lean - too for the lawn care **** and a urinal and scub sink is planned - hope the $$$ holds out til it'd done - ya know "fixed income and all" LOL

A friend of mine built a Jake copy a few years back and I know there were a few weeks work fitting the grill.I can find out dimensions if you like.

Not exactly what you are looking for but here is my 37 pu with a 36 truck grille. It kind of looks like a 34 but a little different. I think it was narrowed 5 inches.

I like the 36 truck grille too. I'm also thinking about getting my buddy to help me build a track nose. Hard to decide. I looked at a couple of 37 grilles at the Indy swap and I know they aew way too expensive. Mark, I will be at Canats. It's a couple of weeks after we move out of our house so there's nuth'n holding me back. Hope to see you there.
