The C-dan is gone so the cruise season is over for me at least, the honey-do-list is in pretty good shape and the holidays are done, so that means one thing...time for some serious building!

This coupe HAS GOT TO BE on the road for the first of spring or else!!

The front view's where I left off last spring, starting to look like something. Got the suspension and running gear pretty well done (tacked) last winter.

Recent work has been on the interior and trunk...finished the trans cover, drive shaft tunnel, gas tank mounts, air compressor and tank mounts, battery box mount, trunk floor and yea a trailer hitch(gotta pull the drag boat with something!). Got more welding and grinding to do, but it's a real good thing this all get's covered with carpet! haha

Next it's on to the rest of the body mods before I pull it all apart to finish the ch***is. This project has me grinning every time I go in the garage.:D

Keith. That is "killer" work. Looks great. Perchance are you running 41 Studebaker tailights?

Love the updates Keith. That trans tunnel makes me want to rip mine out, smash it up til its flat, take some metal shears and shread it into tiny little pieces.... I hate mine (its on the TO REDO LIST). I love yours. Can you make another one for me? Thanks

Yes Jim...they are 41 Stude tailights. You're pretty sharp in the morning. hahaha

Mike, come on down any time, it's always great seein you guys.

It's going to get painted shiny non-metallic, but not black. I have a color that I hope will hide my hack work just like the carpet will hide the inside!:D

Thanks for the encouragement everyone, it's good to hear the comments good or bad. I'm really enjoying this build!

Keith, This is by far the coolest dragger build on the HAMB. Great work as always....

Thanks for the update, nice work on the tunnel and trucnk. I give you plus points for the removeable access on the airbags, that is some good design there.

  28. That car really ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope to see it some time this summer, do you come to any shows in CT?

Taillights will be a stock pair of '41 Studebaker.

***guy - I could still run circles around you with a bad hip, but thats not saying much! and you might be surprised what you find in this as far as build materials, if it comes out half as nice as your projects I'll be happy!

38Chevy454 - I'm building this car to be a driver that's going to see a lot of miles. I figured I'd try to make the road side repairs easy if there have to be any!

car-nut - I make it to a few runs in CT, but one I never miss is the Road Agents Rumble. I'm originally from CT, so I like to get back once in a while to see the buds. Maybe I'll catch you around this summer.

Thanks again all of you guys.

I love what you did with your floor in the trunk and dishin it down around the bags and between the rails. Very nice work sir! Now that you will have a comfy cruiser, you should make it out to my HIJINX run this year, like its not THAT far for you to come out hahaha!!
