    Hi,
I am sure somebody has asked this before. I did a bunch of searches and came up empty handed. I have a 39 truck grill shell I am going to run on my model A. I am looking for different ideas on how to mount it.
    Thanks,
    Jackson

It's just my opinion, but I hate those grills on anything.

Even a 38-39 pick up? I really like them, I regret selling my one 25 years ago. (just like I knew I would.)

i know what you're saying. they aren't beautiful by any means. but it is an east coast hot rod thing that is tough to explain. sorta like being attractive in its ugliness. a shield of hop up honor. i dunno. it gives the right car a little soul.

Really? I always thought that east coast style was pretty cool. I had a 39 truck that I debated on keeping the grill just so I could build an east coast style coupe one day. To each there own.

For whatever it's worth,I really like the 39 truck grill on A's. Sorry Jackson I can't help how to mount it though. (my girl friend doesn't care for them at all!)

  17. I used a 39 passenger car radiator. It had taps on the sides at the top with holes in them. So I made brackets and welded them to the grille and bolted to the taps on top. And on the bottom I welded bolts to the side of the radiator and drilled holes in the grille. I'll try to post pics tomorrow.

I have a soft spot for those grills, ran one on my '30 chevy coupe for years and I think it fit the car well. It's kinda like having a super hot girlfriend with a giant gunt! She's still hot buuuut......

Gow is right, its an east coast badge of honor....if your not sure what we mean pick up a copy of "Cool Cars Square Roll Bars".

    Pete-

    P.s.

I have the shrouds that bolt to the sides of a 38-39 truck grill shell, this is what attaches to the radiator.....$25 shipped.

The first time I met Tom Branch was at Viva las vegs...shit musta been about 5 years ago...

I introduced myself and the first thing he said was, why do run those ugly ass grills anyway??? Then we went for a ride in his roadster.

    Pete-

    P.s.

I have no idea where my chevy is now???
