    State: Indiana
    Price: SOLD
As indicated in a thread on the message board (Saved: 38 Buick Special) the coupe was sitting for the past 8 years in a guys storage building. He realized he was never going to do anything with it again and told a mutual friend who I also knew that he would like to sell it. While I have enough projects on hand, I figured this would be a great car for another HAMBER so I bought it, got it running again and am putting up for sale.

The body is solid. One apparent repaint which is good. Chrome is good (see back bumper where I polished right half). Minimal surface rust on a couple of spots on the floorboard.

Engine is a 248 straight eight with three speed manual on the floor. DSCF1903.JPG DSCF1902.JPG DSCF1883.JPG I cleaned the spark plugs, kerosene in the cylinders overnight, fresh gas and a "new" battery and it fired right up. Idles with 35-40 lbs. of oil pressure. The clutch mechanism seems to be fine.

The car has been converted to 12 volt. It has new quarter window gl*** and maybe all gl*** given that all the rubber/gl*** channels have been replaced as well as the door seals. The steering wheel has been refurbished, the door and window handles re-chromed, the fender welt has been replaced, and the parking light lenses and tail light bezels are new. I have new rubber for both the front and rear fender inserts where the bumper brackets exit.

While the car runs fine, I would probably rewire it if I kept it. The radiator does leak and needs to be repaired. There is surface rust on the frame. And the interior needs work.

If you are interested and have questions it is best if you call me.
Cell: 765-577-0364. I am pretty firm on the price of $7,800.
Depending on distance, delivery might be possible for what it costs.
