I'm building a 38 Chevy coupe taildragger... full air ride, but keeping the mostly body stock looking, with a traditional style interior. But i hit a snag.... My car is a business coupe , the gas full door is in the middle of the p***enger rear quarter behind the front door. I bought as a project from some else... so they installed a plastic flip gas lid door in the side of the car ..replacing the original one. I removed it.. And tryed to install a hideway style metal pop up door in the rear next to the trunk... long story short.. The last owner had a lot of body work completed on the car, and i found a 3/4 inch slab of bondo sculpting the whole rear fender well top of the car. .... I hate when people work on cars that have no FU**ing idea how too fit them correctly .... SO... With that said... I'm wanting to know what cars (fisher body?) would have the correct tear drop style fender well that can be used to fix this car ..other than Chevy... Chevy would be the ideal quarter to find ... but im having no luck in the search for a rear quarter... Is a buick the same? later models.. 39-46 fisher bodies the same? Or if anyone knows of a junk yard that my have a rear quarter for this car.. ???
37 to 38 small body Olds and Pontiac Business Coupes should help you. Look at the Body Reveals on the quarters. Stampings will be different but the area where the fender mounts will be close. Call EMS or Look them up under HAMB Vendors..........Jeff
