I have a set of 33/34 dodge spoke wheels that I want to use on my 1938 Dodge truck The wheels fit the front drums ok - slide tight over the hub. However in both the front and rear aplications the outer wheel hub hits the drum before the bolt hole area. Thus leaving an air gap between the wheel and the drum. Since the original wheels are long gone - I have no idea if this is normal - it doesnt make sense that it is in my opinion Any ideas. The truck was being driven around on 14 1970s dodge rims, and they fit the same way. In addition - the manual seems to indicate the same gap as well. Thanks
I suspect the drums on your truck probably had larger diameter wheels on them then your trying to put there, or the original wheels had a different center configuration. If you want to use specific wheels, what about adding wheel spacers between the wheel and the drum surface. I doubt a space between the two mounting surfaces was an original design condition. Gene
