   i have a 38 flathead and a nice set of 51 heads. will this work?
   will it help or hurt anything? is it worth the time? thanks

   If late (24 stud) '38, it can be done, but your block is really designed for a different water flow pattern. Better to use postwar 59AB or slightly reworked '38-42 types, all with '46-8 type gaskets.
